Count the Stars! — Midweek Message

When was the last time you looked up at the stars? Depending on where you live, it might be hard to see many stars due to light pollution. But I remember back in the day, I took a trip with my family to our cottage up north. We drove to a field one night where there wasn’t any traffic lights for miles and then looked up at all the stars. There were so many stars you couldn’t even count them all! God told Abraham one night that he would have as many children as stars in the sky. There was only one problem: Abraham was an old man and his wife was barren. Talk about a test of faith! Abraham needed the reminder that nothing is impossible with the Lord. God blessed Abraham, gave him a son, and from his family eventually came Jesus. The Lord always fulfills his promises!
Sometimes we need a reminder that God keeps his promises too. It can be hard to trust that God is always working out his plan for good. It can be hard to remember that God is always with us. It can be hard to remember that the Lord will supply our needs. But whenever you are tempted to doubt, just look up at the stars and remember the God who keeps his promises!
